Level of Certainty

Level of certainty labels on notes are used to determine how confident I am that the contents of this note are true. If I’m stating my own opinions, the certainty label is meant to apply to the content of those opinions, not whether I am certain I have those opinions or not.

When a note is labeled high certainty, then it means that I believe the ideas in this note apply well, and that I am confident in defending the ideas in the note. When it is labeled low certainty, that means this is a feeling I have but it’s tenuous and could be overturned quickly with a good argument against it.

No certainty means this is an idea that I am putting out because I think it is interesting, but I am representing an idea that I have no confidence in necessarily, and instead putting it up for illustrative purposes. Not sure how often I’ll use this, but I think it is useful to remember I have the option to post the ideas of others generously even if I do not have any confidence in them.
