Dan Clever checking in about why we can’t ask developer for American Tobacco to do the bike connection.

Emily Egge mentioned that Blackwell would be a great pedestrian boulevard.

• !! How can we petition for Blackwell to become pedestrian only?

• !! Make a website like petition.org where citizens of a town can vote on ideas

Dale McKeel mentioned that this could be an opportunity to implement the cutting out of the Downtown Loop that was proposed elsewhere that is adjacent to this property.

Erik Landfried says Durham Downtown Inc should be interested in this cut-out. Bike Durham also interested in helping with this.

Emily Egge brings up the good question of how our group will be accountable.

Michael Moorman likes the idea as a way to solicit Bike and Ped related public feedback.

Constance Wright is interested in it as long as it actually helps them get their ideas implemented

Erik Landfried thinks it’s best when these sorts of projects are oriented around a goal (e.g. survey for transportation bond)

!! Reach out to Alexander Cahill and ask:

• can I make the site public?

• can we prototype anything for the city?

!! Prepare the bpac home page so it can be presentable to the public. Two uses

1. Internal use, every meeting we’ll mark thoughts down here and maybe solicit public feedback

2. Prototype the tool for the city to see if there are uses that we could prototype

2050 MTP update

Dale McKeel lots of changes to the MTP, mainly lots of road widening projects got canceled. Still modernizing (sidewalks, bike lanes). Maybe bus lanes or bus corridors as well.

NC 54, had been slated for widening, changed into a modernization project.

15-501 by southsquare proposed as a boulevard

Durham Freeway near downtown is also a boulevard proposal
