Impact and fairness trade off

When optimizing for outcomes and impact, often fairness is not optimized (as it is thought of by many).

This is an important trade-off to understand and deal with explicitly. In general, I feel that Optimizing impact and outcomes takes priorities over conceptions of fairness. Though, under a conception of fairness usually lies a inefficient outcome or impact distribution, and that is important to keep in mind.
