I first heard of the quadrant of experiences (home and alone, home and shared, destination and alone, destination and shared) from Bezark who attributed it to Michael Eisner, but I haven’t been able to confirm that myself. This set of experiences is a bit more expanded to include what we see as possible given digital interfaces.

This creates six different combinations that need to be considered. There are certainly more breakdowns possible, but I think it’s important for experiences to target and understand which of these experience types they are aiming for.
