Diversity in Education

An interesting problem with education is that how it is structured is considered to be part of its quality. In other words, who you are educated with is part of the education. A school with diversity is better for educating than one without.

Maybe we need to separate the problems of how to educate, and how to structure education separately. It seems like they could be optimized better if focused on separately.

One criticism (likely among multiple): the way we teach may be tied intimately to what the student group looks like, which would make it harder to separate the two. However, in so far as teaching methods and student body makeup are independent, we should probably try to treat them as separate problems.

This is not to diminish the importance of either.
